Fiona has been a Governor of Goodenough College for over eight years and is a key member of the Development Advisory Board. She has served on a number of recruitment panels and is an active ambassador for the College as it seeks to build stronger relationships with key alumni.
Goodenough College Director, Andrew Ritchie says:
Fiona was instrumental in helping the College to establish its first Development function soon after becoming a governor, bringing with her  a wealth of expertise in the field. She is brimming with common sense and practical ideas which she combines with a sensitive approach when sharing her professional experience and knowledge. She has played a central role in energising the governors and staff of the College around the fundraising endeavour. From the outset of her involvement in Goodenough College Fiona instinctively understood its distinctive ethos and has been a great support to Mark Lewis and his Development team – she knows the development business inside out and there is a genuine warmth to her dealings with people at the College.
Development Director Mark Lewis says:
Given the international constituency of our alumni (90% are overseas), Fiona’s past experience of hands-on international fundraising programmes has been hugely valuable. Equally, as we embarked on Annual Fund direct mail and telethon programmes for the first time, she helped set us on the path of best practice from the outset and I continue to call on her for help in establishing key fundraising processes, not least a gift acceptance policy. She has always been a strong advocate with internal colleagues and other Governors for the value of investing in a professional development and alumni relations function. She has an enviable skill of delivering sometimes difficult messages with clarity, charm and encouragement – a skill I feel all consultants should have – and has always been a pleasure to work with.
