The Measures of a Comprehensive Campaign

London Business School

London Business School (LBS) launched its first ever comprehensive campaign, The Campaign for London Business School, in 2013. With a goal of £100M, LBS closed the campaign two years earlier than predicted having secured £125.4M of campaign support. Marts & Lundy was commissioned by LBS to conduct a comprehensive post-campaign assessment, including undertaking detailed, data-driven analytics on campaign income, carrying out a benchmarking study amongst top-tier business schools, and holding qualitative interviews with key internal stakeholders and senior volunteers. London Business School subsequently commissioned Marts & Lundy to undertake a Regular Giving Assessment.

“The report produced was very insightful and the recommendations have provided the backbone as we start to prepare for the School’s next Campaign. The Marts & Lundy team, both in the US and the UK were great collaborators. In particular we were impressed with how quickly they were able to understand our unique context and shape their analysis in response. They were highly responsive throughout the process and willing to flex and tailor their approach. The team are highly expert in their fields and demonstrated a broad understanding of the international fundraising environment. The team also have a great customer service ethic, which means that we felt fully confident in having them reach out directly to some of our most important donors and friends.” — Susie Balch, Associate Dean, Advancement
