From 2006 to 2016, Don Fellows led our firm as President and CEO, ensuring that our firm’s mission, vision and values remained clear and that our tradition of innovation and service to philanthropy continued with unwavering commitment. His tenure as our leader saw exceptional dedication to our clients, growth in our services and the opening of three international offices. After this decade of service to Marts & Lundy, Don decided to return to full-time consulting. Beginning August 8, 2016, Phil Hills, who also is a senior consultant and principal, assumed the role of President and CEO, carrying forward the outstanding leadership Don provided.
Phil joined the firm in 2011 with more than 20 years of experience in advancement leadership with particular expertise in health sciences, higher education and complex organizations. During his tenure at Marts & Lundy, Phil has served clients in the US and UK, co-chaired our Task Force on Client Teams and has been a member of the firm’s Board of Directors since 2014. When Don announced his intention to return to full-time consulting, Phil was nominated and elected to succeed him by the members of the firm. This is our tradition; for all of our 90 years, Marts & Lundy has been owned by its employees.
